Wilson’s football team has been rolling along this season. The Bulldogs are (9-0) and have already clinched their sixth straight Section 1 championship in the Lancaster-Lebanon League (if you’ve lost count, their league winning streak is at 42). Wilson is ranked #1 in the District 3-AAAA power ratings.
If the Bulldogs are going to complete another undefeated regular season, they will have to do it without their starting quarterback. WEEU Sports has learned that Matt Timochenko has mono and will not play tonight against Warwick. Jake Templin is expected to start at quarterback tonight. Templin is a 5-10, 175-pound junior.
Timochenko is having a very productive senior season. He has thrown 14 TD passes, more than any other QB in Berks County. Timochenko was terrific against Penn Manor last week in a 21-14 victory. He was 14-of-20 for 182 yards with a touchdown pass and no interceptions as Wilson rallied from a 14-0 deficit. Overall this season, Timochenko is completing 58% of his passes and has thrown for 1,265 yards.
