• Big Day for Philly Schools!

Temple, Villanova, and LaSalle are all in action today in the NCAA tournament.

The 9th-seeded Owls may have the toughest matchup of the three Philadelphia schools.  N.C. State is as talented as any team in the country.  C.J. Leslie and Richard Howell form an imposing frontcourt for the 8th-seeded Wolfpack.  Lorenzo Brown can handle the ball at 6’5 and Scott Wood is a lights out 3-point shooter.  Temple is in the tournament for the sixth straight season, but the Owls have lost their opening game in four of the last five years.  Khalif Wyatt, a guard who can really fill it up, will need to control his emotions for Temple.

In another #8-#9 seed matchup, Villanova has its work cut out against North Carolina as Roy Williams goes for his 700th career victory.  The Tar Heels have improved since going to a smaller lineup.  Reggie Bullock and P.J. Hairston can both hit from long range.

LaSalle matches up well with Kansas State.  Both teams are very guard-oriented.  The 13th-seeded Explorers are coming off an 80-71 win over Boise State.

Temple is up first at 1:40pm.  LaSalle plays at 3:10pm and Villanova gets underway at 7:20pm.
