    The WEEU Morning Show Pumpkin Decorating Contest

    Get in the Halloween spirit and join in on the fun during The WEEU Morning Show Pumpkin Decorating Contest sponsored by Limerick Furniture!

    Just send in a picture of a pumpkin you decorated (carved, painted, etc.) this year to MKeller@WEEU.com.  In the picture along with your pumpkin should be a copy of The WEEU Morning Show logo (which can be printed out below or from The WEEU Morning Show Facebook Page). The logo must be printed out on a piece of paper and be included in the picture. It may NOT be copied and pasted, or digitally added to the photo.

     Pumpkin pictures are due by 11:59pm on Monday, October 27th.

    MyPumpkinWe’ll then narrow it down to our finalists and will open it up to listener votes on our Facebook pages and via email. The pictures of the finalists’ pumpkins will be posted on WEEU.com and on The WEEU Morning Show Facebook Page. Voting for the finalists will begin on Wednesday, October 29th at 8am and close at 8am on Halloween morning. The finalist which receives the most votes will be declared our champion and receive a WEEU Prize Pack!  Our champion’s name will be announced during the 8am hour on The WEEU Morning Show on Halloween!

    Our Student Spotlight today is Caitlin Hoag. Caitlin is a 9th grader at Daniel Boone. Some of Caitlin’s activities include writing for the school newspaper, peer-mentoring program, student council, chorus, field hockey, tennis and much more. Academically she is doing very well and has earned Honor Roll. Way to go Caitlin!

    Quinoa Stuffed Bell Peppers

    Vegetarian • Gluten free • 50 mins to make • Serves 6

    Produce:

    6 Bell peppers

    1/2 cup Black beans, canned

    3 tbsp    Cilantro, fresh leaves

    1 cup     Corn, kernels

    1 tsp      Garlic powder

    1 (4-ounce) can Green chiles

    1/2 tsp  Onion powder

    1/2 cup Tomatoes, petite

    Pasta & Grains:

    3 cups   Quinoa, cooked

    Baking & Spices:

    1/2 tsp  Chili powder

    1              Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

    Nuts & Seeds:

    1 tsp      Cumin

    Dairy:

    1/4 cup Feta cheese

    1/2 cup Pepper jack cheese
