    Muhlenberg and Pine Grove were declared co-champions in the Schuylkill-Berks legion baseball league.  The A’s are 27-11-2.  Muhlenberg is hosting the Region 2 Tournament which starts on July 19th and continues until July 23rd.  A’s manager Phil Raccuglia was a guest on “The Sports Democracy” on July 17th.

    Legion Postseason continues

    The local Legion Baseball postseason continues this weekend with the start of the PA Region 2 Tournament. The Tournament runs Saturday (July 19) through Wednesday (July 23) at Muhlenberg’s Gochnauer Field. The schedule for Saturday’s first round:

    9:30 AM – Pine Grove (Sch.-Berks Co-Champ) vs. The Birches (Northampton #2); 12:30 PM – Norchester (Berks #1) vs. Bath (Northampton #1); 4 PM – Hatfield (Bux-Mont playoff champ) vs. No. Parkland (Lehigh Val. #1); 7:30 PM – Muhlenberg (Host & Sch.-Berks Co-Champ) vs Nor-Gwynn (Bux-Mont Reg. Season champ).

    Tournament champ advances to the State Tournament at Boyertown, starting July 29th.
