Mighty John Marshall The Record Guy

On Wednesday, January 28th Mighty Mike Faust had Mighty John Marshall  on as a guest on Feedback. Mighty John did live on-air appraisals from the listener’s record collections. Calling in from Portland, Maine his home state had just hit by a blizzard. Mighty John’s name has been mentioned in four Stephen King Novels, and Adam West once let him drive the Batmobile. He tells the embarrassing story of how he ran out of gas.

    Say Goodbye to A-Treat

Some sad news for soda fans broke on Friday afternoon when we all heard about the demise of A-Treat…  Grapefruit soda I miss you already!

    From Saturday’s Reading Eagle:

    A-Treat shuts down operations
    Saturday January 24, 2015 12:01 AM

Allentown-based A-Treat Bottling Company closed Friday after nearly 100 years.

For fans of this regional favorite, it means whatever is on the shelves at local stores is what they can buy, said Eric White, spokesman for Redners Warehouse Markets. White said he was notified at 3:45 p.m. Friday that the company ceased operations and would not longer be making deliveries.Calls to the company headquarters at 2001 Union Boulevard, Allentown, went unanswered Friday and the company’s web site notes it would no longer take online orders.A-Treat self-distributes, which means each store was on its own delivery schedule so White could not say when the chain received its last shipments. White said some stores had seen a drop in service levels over the past couple of months, leaving shelves bare of A-Treat.A-Treat was founded in 1918 by Joseph and Jack Egizio.
